AD 2 facts for kids
AD 2, also known as 2 AD, was an important year in ancient history. It was called the "Year of the Consulship of Vinicius and Varus" by the Roman Empire, named after their leaders Publius Vinicius and Alfenus Varus. People also sometimes called it 755 AUC, which meant 755 years "from the founding of the city" of Rome. The name "AD 2" became common much later, during the medieval period, when the Anno Domini calendar system started to be used widely in Europe.
