Adam Offord Buxton (born 7 June 1969) is an English actor, comedian, podcaster, and writer. He is famous for being half of the comedy team Adam and Joe with filmmaker Joe Cornish. They had a popular TV show called The Adam and Joe Show on Channel 4 from 1996 to 2001. They also had a radio show on BBC Radio 6 Music.

Since 2015, Buxton has created The Adam Buxton Podcast. On his podcast, he chats with many interesting people. These include other comedians, writers, musicians, and famous personalities. He has also appeared on many TV panel shows. Some of these are Would I Lie To You? and Never Mind the Buzzcocks. Buxton has also made music videos, even working with the band Radiohead.

Early Life and School

Adam Buxton was born on 7 June 1969 in Shepherd's Bush, London. He spent some of his childhood growing up in Wales. His father, Nigel Buxton, was a writer who wrote about travel and wine. Adam's mother, Valerie, was from Chile.

Buxton went to school at Windlesham House School and then Westminster School in London. At Westminster, he met his future comedy partner Joe Cornish. He also became friends with Louis Theroux, who later became a famous documentary maker. Adam studied at the University of Warwick for a short time. He then left to study sculpture at Cheltenham College of Art.

Working with Joe Cornish

Adam Buxton's first TV appearance was on a show called Takeover TV on Channel 4. In 1995, he even hosted the show himself. Adam and Joe Cornish then formed their comedy duo, Adam and Joe. They created The Adam and Joe Show for Channel 4. This show was very popular and ran for four series from 1996 to 2001.

In 1999, Adam and Joe wrote a book together called The Adam and Joe Book. They also had radio shows on Xfm and later BBC Radio 6 Music. Their radio show won a Silver Sony Award in 2012 for being a great entertainment program.

Adam's Solo Projects

Adam Buxton has worked on many projects by himself. He helped write and acted in a Channel 4 mini-series called The Last Chancers in 2004. In 2005, he performed a comedy show at the Edinburgh Festival called I, Pavel. For this show, he grew a very long beard!

Buxton appeared in the BBC Two comedy series Time Trumpet in 2006. He played a journalist named Tim Messenger in the 2007 film Hot Fuzz. He also appeared in the film Stardust. In 2007, he was in the BBC Three sketch show Rush Hour. He also played a teacher in the 2007 film Son of Rambow.

Adam Buxton has worked with the band Radiohead many times. He made several videos for them. He also created many videos for YouTube. The BBC asked him to make a TV show based on these videos. This show, called MeeBOX, was shown on BBC Three in June 2008.

In 2011, Buxton was a guest star in the film The External World. In 2010, he appeared in the BBC comedy The Persuasionists. Adam Buxton married Sarah Evans-Lombe in 2001. They live near Norwich with their three children.
