Gustavo Adrián Ramos Vásquez (born 22 January 1986), known as Adrián Ramos, is a former professional football player from Colombia. He was a striker, which means he was a player who scored goals for his team.
Adrián Ramos first played for the Colombia national football team in 2008. He played for his country 37 times. He also played in big tournaments like the 2011 Copa América and the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Club Career Highlights
Starting Out in Colombia
Adrián Ramos began his football journey at América de Cali in 2004. Early in his career, he was loaned out to other teams like Trujillanos and Santa Fe.
He returned to América de Cali for the 2008 season. He was a very important player when his team won the 2008 Finalizacion championship. He even scored a goal in the final game against Independiente Medellín.
Playing in Germany: Hertha Berlin
In August 2009, Adrián Ramos moved to Germany to play for Hertha BSC. The clubs agreed on a transfer fee of about €2 million.
He scored his first goal for Hertha in a cup game in September 2009. His first goal in the Bundesliga league came in November against Stuttgart. In December 2013, Ramos scored two quick goals to help Hertha win against Werder Bremen. The 2013–14 Bundesliga season was his best with Hertha. He scored 16 goals, which was one of the highest in the league.
Joining Borussia Dortmund
On 9 April 2014, it was announced that Ramos would join Borussia Dortmund. He officially moved to the club on 1 July 2014 and signed a four-year contract. Ramos was excited to join his new team. He hoped to help fill the spot left by another famous player, Robert Lewandowski.
Ramos played his first game for Dortmund on 13 August 2014. He came in as a substitute in their 2–0 win against Bayern Munich in the DFL Supercup. Just three days later, he scored his first goal for Dortmund in a cup match. On 29 August, he scored his first league goal for Borussia Dortmund against FC Augsburg. This helped Dortmund get their first win of the Bundesliga season. He also scored two goals in the Champions League against Anderlecht.
Time with Granada and Chongqing Lifan
In January 2017, Ramos was loaned to Granada in Spain. Later, in June 2017, Borussia Dortmund announced that Ramos would join Chongqing Lifan in China. He then returned to Granada in 2018 after two loan periods with them.
Back Home: América de Cali
On 1 January 2020, Adrián Ramos went back to Colombia. He signed with his old club, América de Cali. He was part of the team that won the 2020 championship. This was America's first title since 2008, which was also when Ramos was part of the winning squad.
Playing for His Country: Colombia
Adrián Ramos played for the Colombia Under-17 team in the 2003 World Cup. He scored three goals in that tournament, helping Colombia finish in fourth place. He was called up to play for the main Colombian national team on 20 August 2008. His first game was a friendly match against Ecuador.
On 2 July 2011, Ramos scored the only goal in a game against Costa Rica. This was during the group stage of the 2011 Copa América in Argentina.
Ramos was chosen for Colombia's team for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. This was Colombia's first time in the tournament since 1998. He played his first game in the last group match against Japan. Colombia won that game 4–1. He also came on as a substitute in the knockout games. Colombia reached the quarter-finals, which was their best performance ever in the World Cup.
