Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah (born 5 September 1952) is an important person in Kuwait. He is an economist, a politician, and a senior member of the ruling family, called Al Sabah. He used to be the Minister of Oil from 2009 to 2011. On 15 May 2024, he became the Prime Minister of Kuwait.
Early Life and School
Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah was born on 5 September 1952. He went to the University of Illinois and finished his studies in 1975. He earned a special degree in finance, which is about managing money.
His Career and Roles
Ahmad Al-Sabah started his career at the Central Bank of Kuwait in 1978. He worked there until 1987. After that, he worked for private financial companies until 1999. During this time, he was the chairman of a bank called Burgan Bank.
He became the Minister of Finance in 1999 and served until 2001. In 1999, he was also made the Minister of Communication. In 2007, he was suggested to be the Minister of Health. However, the National Assembly (which is like Kuwait's parliament) did not agree, and the government had to resign.
In February 2009, Ahmad Al-Sabah was chosen to be the Minister of Oil. He was the fifth person to hold this job since 2006. He took over from Mohammad Al Olaim. His time as Oil Minister ended in May 2011.
In 2021, he became the head of the Crown Prince’s Court. This is an important role that supports the Crown Prince. On 15 April 2024, he was named the new Prime Minister. He officially took office on 15 May 2024, after forming his government and taking an oath in front of the Kuwaiti Emir.

Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah is married. He has three children.
