Ahman Rashad Green (born February 16, 1977) is a former American football running back. He played for 12 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). Green is famous for his time with the Green Bay Packers. He holds the team record for the most rushing yards.
Green played college football for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He was recognized as an All-American in 1997. After his NFL career, he became an esports coach. He also became a professor at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 2023.

Early Life and High School Sports
Ahman Green was born in Omaha, Nebraska. He went to Omaha Central High School. In high school, he was a top football player. He was named 'Player of the Year' for his state.
Besides football, Green was also a talented track and field athlete. He ran the 100-meter dash very quickly. He also competed in Powerlifting, showing his strength.
College Football Career
Green was a star running back at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. He played a big part in the Cornhuskers winning two national championships.
Freshman Year (1995) Success
As a freshman, Green rushed for 1,086 yards. This is still the school record for a freshman. He scored 13 touchdowns. He helped Nebraska win the 1995 national championship. He was named a freshman All-American.
Sophomore Year (1996) Highlights
In 1996, Green led his team with 917 rushing yards. He scored seven touchdowns. He had a career-high 214 yards in one game against Iowa State.
Junior Year (1997) Achievements
As a junior, Green had an amazing season. He rushed for 1,877 yards and 22 touchdowns. He had 12 games in a row where he rushed for over 100 yards. Nebraska won another national championship that year. Green was a finalist for the Doak Walker Award. This award goes to the best college running back.
College Career Totals
Green finished his college career with 3,880 rushing yards. He also scored 42 touchdowns. Both of these numbers are second-highest in Cornhuskers history. He also caught 35 passes for 300 yards and three touchdowns.
One of his best games was in the 1998 Orange Bowl. He rushed for 206 yards and two touchdowns. This set a new Orange Bowl record. Nebraska won the game 42–17. Green was named the game's MVP.

Time with the Seattle Seahawks (1998–1999)
Green played for the Seahawks for two seasons. He ran for many yards per carry. However, he did not get a lot of playing time. This was because another experienced player, Ricky Watters, was ahead of him.
Green Bay Packers Star (2000–2006)
In 2000, Green was traded to the Green Bay Packers. He quickly became a key player. From 2001 to 2004, he was chosen for the NFL Pro Bowl four times. He broke many team records.
Between 2000 and 2004, Green gained more rushing yards than any other NFL player. In 2003, he had his best year. He rushed for 1,883 yards, a Packers record. He also became the only NFL player to rush for over 1,850 yards, average 5.0 yards per carry, score 20 touchdowns, and catch 50 passes in one season.
Houston Texans (2007–2008)
In 2007, Green signed with the Houston Texans. He played there for two seasons. He rushed for 554 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught 25 passes.
Return to the Green Bay Packers (2009)
Green returned to the Green Bay Packers in 2009. On November 8, 2009, he broke Jim Taylor's record. He became the all-time leading rusher in Packers history. In his final NFL season, he rushed for 160 yards.
Other Leagues and Retirement
After the NFL, Green played for the Omaha Nighthawks in the United Football League in 2010. He also signed with the Montreal Alouettes in the Canadian Football League in 2011. Green announced his retirement from football in August 2011.

Green lives in Green Bay and enjoys video games and comic books. His nickname is "Batman." He runs a sports training facility. He also works as a spokesman for the Wisconsin Alzheimer's Association. From 2012 to 2014, he was a co-owner of the Green Bay Blizzard, an arena football team.
Green had small roles in the films Big Stan and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. In February 2020, Green became the head coach of Lakeland University's new varsity esports team.
