Where is Airdmillan?
Airdmillan is right next to the beautiful Coral Sea on its eastern side. On its southern edge, you'll find Plantation Creek. Kalamia Creek is to the north, and Mud Creek flows through the middle, helping to drain the land.
Airdmillan's Story
How Airdmillan Got Its Name
The name Airdmillan comes from an old sugar plantation that used to be here. It's a special word made by combining two parts. "Aird" is a very old word from Gaelic that means "high" or "lofty." "Millan" comes from the name of the plantation owner, Archibald Campbell MacMillan.
A School in the Past
A long time ago, there was a school in Airdmillan. The Airdmillan State School first opened its doors on January 30, 1912. However, it closed down many years later, on December 12, 1986.
