Akelarre is a very famous restaurant located in Spain. It is found in the Igeldo area, close to the city of San Sebastián. This restaurant is known for its delicious Basque cuisine, especially its fresh seafood.
Akelarre was started in 1974 by a well-known chef named Pedro Subijana. It has earned three Michelin stars. Michelin stars are a special award given to restaurants that offer excellent food and service. Getting three stars means it is one of the best restaurants in the world!
About Akelarre
Since 2017, Akelarre has also been home to a fancy 5-star hotel. This hotel has 22 rooms, and each room offers amazing views of the Cantabrian Sea. Imagine waking up to that view!
The hotel also has another restaurant called Oteiza. It is named after a famous sculptor who used to visit Akelarre often. The restaurant also has a large collection of over 650 different wines. These wines come from Spain and other countries around the world.
