Albert Township is in the southwestern part of Montmorency County. It shares its southern border with Oscoda County. To the west, it borders Otsego County. Its very southwest corner touches Crawford County.

The town of Lewiston is found in the southwest area of the township. Lewiston is an unincorporated community. This means it is a populated place that is not part of an official city or village. The Lewiston post office serves most of Albert Township.
