Albion is a small town, also called a borough, in Erie County, Pennsylvania, United States. In 2020, about 1,528 people lived there. It is part of the larger Erie area. A big part of the town's economy comes from the Albion State Correctional Institute (SCI Albion), which provides many jobs.
On May 31, 1985, a very strong tornado hit Albion. This tornado was part of a big storm system that affected both the United States and Canada. It was rated an F4 on the Fujita Scale, which means it caused a lot of damage.

Geography of Albion
Albion is located in the southwestern part of Erie County. It is surrounded by Conneaut Township. The borough covers a total area of about 1.09 square miles (2.8 square kilometers). A very small part of this area, about 0.015 square miles (0.04 square kilometers), is water.
Two main roads, U.S. Route 6N and Pennsylvania Route 18, go through the center of Albion. US 6N goes east about 12 miles (19 km) to Edinboro. If you go west and then north on US 6N, it's about 8 miles (13 km) to West Springfield and Interstate 90.
PA 18 also goes east with US 6N for a bit, but then it turns north towards Cranesville, which is about 2 miles (3 km) northeast of Albion. If you head south on PA 18, it's about 22 miles (35 km) to Conneaut Lake. The city of Erie is about 28 miles (45 km) northeast of Albion. You can get there by taking PA 18, Interstate 90, and Interstate 79.

Education
Albion is part of the Northwestern School District. Students in Albion attend one of four schools. These include Northwestern Elementary School and Springfield Elementary School for younger students. Older students go to Northwestern Middle School and Northwestern High School. The mascot for all these schools is the Northwestern Wildcat, whose name is "Willie."
Sports
The Northwestern School District offers many sports teams for students. These include baseball, softball, volleyball, track and field, cross country, basketball, wrestling, and football. The Northwestern Wildcats football team plays its home games at Rogers Field, which is next to the high school.
Younger kids in Albion can also join local sports groups. These include Northwestern Little League for baseball and softball, and Northwest Little Gridders Football.
Nicknames
Albion has a couple of interesting nicknames. It is known as "the most northwestern borough in Pennsylvania." This fits well because its high school is called Northwestern High School.
Albion is also home to Conneaut Creek and some smaller streams that flow into it. Because Conneaut Creek is known for its great fishing, especially for trout, some anglers call Albion "The country's best trout fishery."
Transportation
Besides the main roads, U.S. Route 6N and State Route 18, a railroad also passes through Albion. The Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad goes through the town on its way to the P & C Dock Company in Conneaut, Ohio.
