Aldo Sambrell (born Alfredo Sánchez Brell; February 23, 1931 – July 10, 2010) was a famous Spanish actor, director, and producer. He appeared in more than 150 movies from 1961 to 1996. He was especially known for playing tough guys and villains in many Western films.

About Aldo Sambrell
Aldo Sambrell was born in Vallecas, Spain, on February 23, 1931. When he was young, his family moved to Mexico. There, he started a career in football (soccer). He played for teams like Puebla F.C. and C.F. Monterrey. People called him Madrileño Sánchez during his football days.
Later, he returned to Spain and played for Alcoyano and Rayo Vallecano. After his football career, he decided to become an actor.
His Acting Career
Aldo Sambrell became very well known for his roles in movies called Spaghetti Westerns. These were Western films made in Europe, especially Italy and Spain. He often played the part of a "henchman," which is a loyal follower or a bad guy in a gang.
Famous Western Roles
He appeared in some of the most famous Spaghetti Westerns directed by Sergio Leone. These include:
- A Fistful of Dollars (1964)
- For a Few Dollars More (1965)
- The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966)
He also acted in Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) and 100 Rifles (1969). In A Fistful of Dynamite (1971), he played a firing squad leader.
Other Movies and Roles
Beyond Westerns, Aldo Sambrell acted in many different types of films. He was in The Golden Voyage of Sinbad (1973), where he played a member of Sinbad's crew. He also appeared with famous action star Jackie Chan in the movie Armour of God 2: Operation Condor, playing a villain.
Sambrell also had small parts in big international movies. These included Doctor Zhivago (1965) and The Wind and the Lion (1975).
His Later Life
Aldo Sambrell was married to Cándida López Cano. They had a son together. The famous director Sergio Leone, who directed many of Sambrell's Western films, was his best man at his wedding.
Aldo Sambrell passed away in Alicante, Spain, on July 10, 2010. He was 79 years old. He died from a cerebral infarction, which is a type of stroke. His ashes were spread at Fort Bravo in Tabernas, a place in Spain often used for filming Western movies.
