Alec Ingold's Early Life and High School Years
Alec Ingold grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin. In high school, he was a talented dual-threat quarterback at Bay Port High School. This means he was good at both running with the ball and throwing it.
He first planned to play for Northern Illinois. However, he later chose to accept a scholarship from Wisconsin. During his senior year, he was named the Wisconsin Player of the Year by both the Associated Press and Gatorade.
Alec Ingold's College Football Career
Alec Ingold played college football for the Wisconsin Badgers. He started as a linebacker, which is a defensive position. But due to an injury to another player, he moved to running back. Later, he found his main position as a fullback.
A fullback is a player who blocks for other runners and sometimes carries the ball or catches passes. Alec often played in "short-yardage" situations. This means when his team needed only a few yards to get a first down or score a touchdown. He was very good at scoring touchdowns when he carried the ball.
After his senior year, Alec was invited to the 2019 Senior Bowl. This is a special game where top college players show their skills to NFL teams. In 2019, Alec Ingold signed with the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent. This means he wasn't chosen in the NFL draft but was still signed by a team. He made his first start on Monday Night Football against the Denver Broncos.
In Week 10 of his first season, Alec scored his first career touchdown. This happened in a game against the Los Angeles Chargers. In 2020, the team moved and became the Las Vegas Raiders. Alec scored the first touchdown for the Raiders in their new home, Allegiant Stadium.
