Alfred Bruce Morris, born on December 12, 1988, is a former American professional football player. He was a talented running back in the National Football League (NFL). Alfred played college football for the Florida Atlantic Owls. The Washington Redskins picked him in the sixth round of the 2012 NFL draft. He also played for other teams like the San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, Arizona Cardinals, and New York Giants.
Early Life and High School Sports
Alfred Morris grew up in Pensacola, Florida. He went to Pine Forest High School. There, he was a star athlete in football, basketball, and track.
Football Success in High School
In high school football, Alfred played both offense and defense. In his senior year, he ran for 1,049 yards and scored 17 touchdowns. On defense, he made 147 tackles and caught five interceptions. He was named the North West Florida MVP. He also made the first-team All-State list. Alfred was even named student-athlete of the month. When he was in sixth grade, he played youth football against future NFL players Doug Baldwin and Trent Richardson.
Track and Field Achievements
Alfred was also a top jumper in track and field. At the 2007 state finals, he finished tenth in the triple jump. He jumped 13.40 meters, which was his best ever. He also had a personal best of 6.48 meters in the long jump.
College Football Career
Alfred Morris played college football for Florida Atlantic University from 2008 to 2011.
Starting Strong in 2009
In 2009, Alfred's role on the team grew a lot. He had several games where he ran for over 100 yards. Against Louisiana-Monroe, he rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown. He gained 147 yards and two touchdowns against North Texas. Later, he had 181 rushing yards and two touchdowns against Louisiana-Lafayette. He finished the 2009 season with 1,392 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns.
Continuing Success in 2010 and 2011
Alfred kept up his strong performance in 2010. He rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown against UAB. He also had 153 yards and two touchdowns against Louisiana-Monroe. In total, he ran for 928 yards and seven touchdowns that season.
In his final college season in 2011, Alfred continued to shine. He had 85 rushing yards and a receiving touchdown against Auburn. He also rushed for 162 yards and a touchdown against North Texas. Later, he gained 198 rushing yards and scored four touchdowns against UAB. He ended his college career with 1,186 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns in 2011.

Professional Football Career
Alfred Morris was drafted into the NFL in 2012. He played for several teams during his professional career.
Washington Redskins (2012–2015)
The Washington Redskins chose Alfred Morris in the sixth round of the 2012 NFL draft. He was the 173rd player picked overall. He signed a four-year contract with the team. After strong performances in preseason games, he became the starting running back.
Rookie Season Highlights (2012)
In his first NFL game, Alfred rushed for 96 yards and scored two touchdowns. He quickly showed his talent. He had his first 100-yard game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was named NFL Rookie of the Week twice that season.
In the last game of the 2012 season, Alfred had an amazing performance. He ran for 200 yards and scored three touchdowns. This helped the Redskins win their division and make the playoffs. He broke two Redskins franchise records that year. He set a new record for most rushing yards in a single season (1,613 yards). He also set a record for most touchdowns by a rookie (13 touchdowns). Alfred continued to be a key player for the Redskins. In 2013, he rushed for 1,275 yards and seven touchdowns. He was even chosen to play in the 2014 Pro Bowl. In 2014, he rushed for 1,074 yards and eight touchdowns. This was his third straight season with over 1,000 rushing yards. He became only the fourth running back in Redskins history to achieve this. He also went to the 2015 Pro Bowl.
Final Season with Redskins (2015)
In 2015, Alfred remained the starter but shared carries with other players. He rushed for a season-high 121 yards against the Miami Dolphins. He finished the season with 751 rushing yards and one touchdown. By the end of his time with the Redskins, he had moved up to fifth place for most career rushing yards in the team's history.
Dallas Cowboys (First Time: 2016–2017)
In 2016, Alfred Morris signed a two-year contract with the Dallas Cowboys. He joined a team that also drafted Ezekiel Elliott, who became the main running back. Alfred mostly played on third downs and focused on blocking.
Playing a Backup Role (2016)
Alfred scored his first touchdown with the Cowboys against his former team, the Washington Redskins. He finished the 2016 season with 243 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Stepping Up in 2017

In 2017, Alfred became the starting running back for a few weeks. This happened when Ezekiel Elliott was suspended. In Week 13, Alfred played against the Washington Redskins again. He rushed for 127 yards, helping the Cowboys win 38–14. He finished the 2017 season with 547 rushing yards and one touchdown.
San Francisco 49ers (2018)
Alfred signed with the San Francisco 49ers in 2018. He became the starting running back when another player, Jerick McKinnon, was injured. In the last game of the season, he rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown. He ended the 2018 season with 428 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Later Career (2019–2020)
Alfred had a second short time with the Dallas Cowboys in 2019. He then played briefly for the Arizona Cardinals. In 2020, he joined the practice squad of the New York Giants. He was later promoted to the active roster. He finished the 2020 season playing in nine games. He rushed for 238 yards and one touchdown, and also caught a receiving touchdown. He was released by the Giants in August 2021.

Personal Life
Alfred Morris is the son of Ronald and Yvonne Morris. He has six brothers. He is a Christian.
His Famous Car: "Bentley"
Even after becoming a professional football player, Alfred kept driving his old 1991 Mazda 626. He lovingly nicknamed it "Bentley." He drove this car all the way from Florida to his new home in Washington, D.C. Because of the positive attention, Mazda decided to fix up his car for free. They added a new radio with a CD player and a navigation system. Otherwise, they restored it to look like new.
