Alicia Janz was born on 25 May 1990. She is a former Australian sports star. Alicia played both Australian rules football and netball at a high level. She competed in the AFL Women's (AFLW) competition. She also played in the ANZ Championship for netball.

Early Life and Sports Journey

Alicia Janz was born in Katherine, Northern Territory. Her mother has Papua New Guinean and Torres Strait Islander roots. Her father is Australian. Alicia has special family connections to the Meriam Mer group.

She grew up in Derby, Western Australia. This is where she first started playing Australian rules football. She played for fun with other kids in the area. Later, she went to Methodist Ladies' College, Perth.

Before playing football, Alicia was a talented netball player. She played for two professional teams: West Coast Fever and Western Sting. In 2014, Alicia moved to Melbourne. There, she decided to switch from netball to football. She joined the Darebin Falcons team. After that, she moved back to Perth. She played for Swan Districts in the WAWFL league.

AFLW Career Highlights

In 2017, the Fremantle Dockers picked Alicia. She joined their team as a player who could fill in if someone got hurt. She made her first AFLW appearance in Round 5 of the 2017 season. This game was against Collingwood at Rushton Park. Fremantle lost by just one point.

After her first game, Alicia played in every match for the rest of the season. She played three games in total that year. At the end of 2017, Fremantle removed her from their list. But she returned to the team in October through the 2017 AFL Women's draft.

In April 2019, Alicia made a big move. She joined the West Coast Eagles team. This was the Eagles' first year in the AFLW competition. Alicia played 6 games for the Eagles during her time there. On 9 June 2021, the Eagles decided to remove her from their team. She finished her AFLW career having played 20 games in total.
