Alicia Janz, born on May 25, 1990, is a talented former athlete. She played both Australian rules football in the AFL Women's league and netball in the ANZ Championship.

Alicia Janz's Early Life and Sports Beginnings
Alicia Janz was born in Katherine, Northern Territory. Her mother has Papua New Guinean and Torres Strait Islander heritage, and her father is Australian. Alicia is also connected to the Meriam Mer ancestry.
She grew up in Derby, Western Australia. There, she first started playing Australian rules football informally with friends. Alicia also attended Methodist Ladies' College, Perth.
From Netball to Australian Rules Football
Before playing football, Janz was a skilled netball player. She played for teams like West Coast Fever and Western Sting. In 2014, she moved to Melbourne. This is when she decided to switch from netball to Australian rules football.
She joined the Darebin Falcons in the VWFL. Later, she moved back to Perth. There, she played for Swan Districts in the WAWFL.
Alicia Janz's AFLW Career
In 2017, the Fremantle team recruited Alicia Janz. She joined them as a player who could fill in for injured teammates.
Debut with Fremantle
Alicia made her first AFLW appearance in Round 5 of the 2017 season. This was in a close game against Collingwood at Rushton Park. Fremantle lost that game by just one point. After her first game, she played in every match for the rest of the season. She finished with three games in total for 2017.
At the end of the 2017 season, Fremantle decided not to keep her on their main list. However, she returned to Fremantle's team in October through the 2017 AFL Women's draft.
Moving to West Coast Eagles
In April 2019, Alicia Janz made a big move. She joined the West Coast team. This was for their very first season in the AFLW. She played six games with the Eagles during her time there.
On June 9, 2021, the Eagles decided to remove her from their team list. Alicia Janz has since retired from playing in the AFLW.
