Aline Creek is a small stream, also called a tributary, located in Snyder County, Pennsylvania, USA. It flows into the North Branch Mahantango Creek.
This creek is about 2.3 miles (3.7 km) long and runs through Perry Township. The area of land that drains into the creek, known as its watershed, covers about 1.61 square miles (4.2 km2). Aline Creek has one unnamed smaller stream that flows into it.
Part of Aline Creek is considered an "impaired waterbody." This means it's not as healthy as it should be. The main reasons are too much dirt and mud (called siltation or sedimentation) from farming and when plants along the creek banks are removed. Even so, the creek's watershed is a special place for fish. It's known as a Coldwater Fishery and a Migratory Fishery.

Where Aline Creek Flows
Aline Creek starts on a hill in Perry Township. It flows towards the east-southeast for a short distance and then enters a valley.
Next, it turns northeast. After a while, an unnamed smaller stream joins it from the left side. Soon after, the creek turns east-northeast.
After flowing for some distance, the creek leaves its valley and turns directly east. A short way downstream, it meets the North Branch Mahantango Creek. Aline Creek joins the North Branch Mahantango Creek about 2.92 miles (4.70 km) before that creek reaches its own end.
Smaller Streams Joining Aline Creek
Aline Creek does not have any named smaller streams, or tributaries, that flow into it. However, it does have one unnamed tributary. This unnamed stream is about 0.6 miles (0.97 km) long and flows generally east-southeast.
Creek Health and Surroundings
The elevation where Aline Creek meets the North Branch Mahantango Creek is about 463 feet (141 m) above sea level. Where the creek begins, its source, the elevation is higher, at about 734 feet (224 m) above sea level.
As mentioned, a part of Aline Creek is considered an "impaired waterbody." This means its water quality is not as good as it should be. The problems are mainly too much siltation and sedimentation. These issues often come from farming activities and when plants along the creek are removed.
Not the entire creek is impaired. About 1.25 miles (2.01 km) of Aline Creek's main path and 0.65 miles (1.05 km) of its unnamed tributary are healthy and meet their intended purpose.
Watershed and Wildlife
The watershed of Aline Creek, which is the entire land area that drains water into the creek, covers about 1.61 square miles (4.2 km2). The mouth of the creek is located on the United States Geological Survey map called the Dalmatia quadrangle. However, its source is on the Richfield quadrangle map. The creek's mouth is less than 1 mile (1.6 km) from a place called Troutwell.
The area around Aline Creek is special for fish. It's known as a Coldwater Fishery, which means it's a good habitat for fish that need cold water. It's also a Migratory Fishery, meaning fish travel through it as part of their life cycle. The creek's main purpose is to support aquatic life, like fish and other water creatures.
History of Aline Creek
Aline Creek was officially added to the Geographic Names Information System on August 2, 1979. This system helps keep track of names for places like rivers and mountains. Its special identification number in that system is 1168153.
There has been a plan to replace a bridge that carries State Route 3016 over Aline Creek.
