A Look at the Church's History
This church is really old, going back to the Middle Ages. Some parts of it are from the 12th century, which is over 800 years ago! Around the year 1777, the church became a bit smaller, and its tower was fixed.
The area near the altar, called the chancel, once had a special window made of terracotta. This was changed to a stone window during some repair work in 1888. You can still see pieces of the old window, including two incomplete stone faces, in the chancel today.
If you enter through the south porch, which was added in 1958, you'll see a very old doorway. This doorway is from the 13th century and has fancy carvings in a style called Early English.
