Starting on the WTA Tour

2021: First Steps and a Record Serve

Alycia made her first big appearance on the WTA Tour in 2021. This was at the MUSC Health Open in Charleston. She won her first match there but then lost to a top player, Ons Jabeur.

Later that year, at the US Open, Alycia showed off her amazing serve. She tied a record set by Venus Williams for the fastest serve ever recorded by a woman at that tournament. Her serve reached an incredible 129 miles per hour!

Big Wins and First Titles

2022: Breaking Through and Winning Doubles

The year 2022 was a big one for Alycia. She started to climb the rankings. At the German Open in Berlin, she reached the second round. This helped her ranking jump up to No. 135.

A major moment came at the Ostrava Open. Alycia, who was ranked No. 144, defeated a former world No. 1 player, Karolína Plíšková. This was her first win against a player in the top 20. She then went on to beat Maria Sakkari, who was ranked No. 7. This was her first win against a top-10 player! She reached her first ever WTA quarterfinal.
