Amido Baldé (born May 16, 1991) is a professional football player from Guinea-Bissau. He plays as a forward, which means he is usually trying to score goals for his team.
He started his career at Sporting CP in Portugal. He then played for several clubs, including Vitória de Guimarães, where he won the Portuguese Cup in 2013. Later, he moved to Celtic in Scotland. Amido Baldé has played in many different countries, like Belgium, France, Angola, Albania, Libya, Indonesia, and Vietnam.
He also played for Portugal's youth teams. He helped the under-20 team finish second in the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Later, he chose to play for his home country, Guinea-Bissau.

Amido Baldé's Football Journey
Starting in Portugal
Amido Baldé was born in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau. He began his football journey at Sporting de Bissau, which was a youth team linked to the big Portuguese club Sporting CP.
In 2008, he moved to Lisbon, Portugal, to join Sporting CP's main academy. He was a key player for their junior teams, helping them win championships. He scored 13 goals in 29 games during the 2008–09 season.
As a senior player, Baldé spent time on loan to other clubs. In the 2010–11 season, he played for Santa Clara in Portugal's second division and Badajoz in Spain's third division. The next season, he was loaned to Cercle Brugge in Belgium.
Winning with Vitória Guimarães
In 2012, Amido Baldé joined Vitória de Guimarães, another top club in Portugal. He made his first appearance for them in September 2012. He scored his first goal for the team in November, helping them get a 2–2 draw.
In his only season with Vitória Guimarães, he played 37 matches. He helped the club win the Taça de Portugal (Portuguese Cup) for the very first time in their history in 2013. This was a big achievement for the team!
Time at Celtic
On June 13, 2013, Baldé signed a four-year contract with Celtic, a famous team in Scotland. He was excited to join, saying Celtic was "one of the best clubs in Europe." He made his first official appearance for Celtic in a Champions League qualifying match in July 2013.
He scored his first goal for Celtic in September 2013 in a 5–2 win. He scored again in October, helping his team win 2–1. Even though he played in 20 league games that season, he was often a substitute. His time at Celtic ended in June 2015 when his contract was finished early.
Playing in Many Countries
After leaving Celtic, Amido Baldé continued his football journey across the world.
- In 2014, he was loaned to Waasland-Beveren in Belgium, where he scored a fantastic goal from far away.
- In 2015, he was loaned to Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel.
- Later in 2015, he signed with Metz in France.
- In 2016, he moved to Angola to play for Benfica de Luanda, where he was one of the top scorers for his team.
- He returned to Portugal in August 2016 to play for Marítimo. During this time, he faced some health challenges that affected his playing time.
- In 2018, he joined Kukësi in Albania, playing his first competitive game in almost a year.
- After a short time in Libya with Al-Nasr, Baldé moved to Indonesia in February 2019 to play for Persebaya. He scored five goals in nine matches, including three goals in one game (a hat-trick)! He was also a top scorer in Indonesia's cup tournament, the Piala Indonesia.
- Later in 2019, he joined another Indonesian club, PSM.
- In 2020, he moved to Vietnam to play for Ho Chi Minh City. He scored goals in the AFC Cup, an Asian club competition.
International Career
Amido Baldé first played for Portugal's youth teams. He was part of the under-20 squad that finished as runners-up (second place) at the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia.
In 2014, Baldé decided to play for his birth country, Guinea-Bissau. He made his first appearance for them in June 2015 in a match against Zambia.
He scored his first goal for Guinea-Bissau on October 8, 2015. It was an important goal that helped his team get a 1–1 draw in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying game against Liberia.
