Discovering the History of Amisk Lake

Early Developments Around Amisk Lake

In the 1940s, some interesting things started happening at Amisk Lake. A mink farm was built on the northwest side of the lake. A mink farm is a place where small animals called mink are raised. At the same time, a resort was also created. This resort offered boat and cabin rentals for visitors.

Changes and Growth Over Time

Later, the mink farm and resort were replaced. Two new housing areas, called subdivisions, were built. A trailer park was also added at the north end of the lake. Even with these changes, most of Amisk Lake's shoreline remains undeveloped. This means it is still a natural and peaceful place.
