Anamoose is a small city located in McHenry County, North Dakota, in the United States. In 2020, about 230 people lived there. It is considered part of the larger Minot area.
The city of Anamoose was founded in 1898. It was built along the main railway line of the Soo Line Railroad. The first settlers were Romanians who came from Saskatchewan, Canada. The name "Anamoose" comes from the Chippewa word uhnemoosh, which means "female dog."
