Anderson is a small town in Lauderdale County, Alabama, in the United States. It is part of a larger area called "The Shoals". This area includes cities like Florence and Muscle Shoals. In 2010, about 282 people lived in Anderson.

History of Anderson
Anderson town is located near Anderson Creek. This creek flows into the Elk River. Both the town and the creek are named after Samuel Anderson. He built a gristmill (a mill for grinding grain) along the creek in the early 1800s.
The area was first settled around 1825. It was originally called "Andersons Creek". Later, the name was shortened to "Anderson". A post office was opened in Anderson in 1860. The town officially became an incorporated town in 1973.

Anderson first appeared on the U.S. Census in 1980 as an official town. It also included people who lived there in 1970, even though it wasn't officially listed then.
Education in Anderson
Anderson used to have a school called Anderson Junior High School. It was part of the Lauderdale County School System. This school taught students from kindergarten up to 9th grade.
However, the school later closed. The students from this area now attend other schools. These include Lauderdale County High School and Lexington School. There is no longer a school building located directly in Anderson.

Local Parks
Anderson has a nice two-acre park. It features a walking trail, a pavilion (a covered area), and a playground. The park is located just north of the town. It also has areas that are easy for people with disabilities to use.
Golf Course
Anderson is home to the Anderson Creek Golf Club. This golf course has 18 holes. It was built in 1992.

- Hugh P. Harris was a four-star general in the United States Army. He was the Commanding General of the United States Army Forces Command from 1964 to 1965.
