André Martín Carrillo Díaz (born on June 14, 1991) is a professional footballer from Peru. He plays as an attacking midfielder for the Brazilian club Corinthians. André also plays for the Peru national team. People often call him La Culebra, which means The Snake in Spanish.
André started his senior football career in 2009 with Alianza Lima in Peru. Two years later, he moved to Sporting CP in Portugal. He also started playing for his country's national team around that time. In 2016, he joined Benfica, another big club in Portugal. With Benfica, he won the league, cup, and super cup in his first season.
Later, he played on loan for Watford in England and then for Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia. He joined Al-Hilal permanently in 2019. While playing for Al-Hilal, he won many titles, including three league championships and two AFC Champions League titles. In 2023, he moved to Al-Qadsiah and helped them get promoted to the top league. In 2024, he joined the Brazilian team Corinthians.
For his country, André Carrillo has played over 100 games for Peru since 2011. He has played in five Copa América tournaments. His team finished third in 2011 and 2015, and second in 2019. He also played in the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Club Career Highlights
André Carrillo has played for several clubs throughout his career. He started in Peru and then moved to Portugal, England, Saudi Arabia, and now Brazil.
Starting with Alianza Lima
André began his football journey in 2004 in Lima, Peru. He joined the youth team of Esther Grande de Bentín. In 2007, he moved to Alianza Lima's youth setup. By 2009, he was playing for Alianza Lima's main team. His first league game was on December 5, 2009. He came into the game in the 75th minute, and the match ended in a 2–2 draw.
Playing for Sporting CP
On May 6, 2011, André Carrillo signed a five-year contract with Sporting CP in Portugal. He quickly became part of their main team. He made his debut in Portugal's top league, the Primeira Liga, on September 19, 2011. Sporting won that game 3–2. In his second match, he helped his team score a goal. He later helped with two more goals in a big 6–1 win. He scored his first league goal in his eleventh game, but Sporting lost that match 2–1.
On February 2, 2016, Sporting announced that Carrillo had signed a contract with their city rivals, Benfica.
Time with Benfica
André Carrillo officially joined Benfica on July 1, 2016. Benfica had just won the Portuguese league. He was part of the team that won the 2016 Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira (Super Cup) on August 7. In his first season, he played 20 games and scored two goals as Benfica won the league. They also won the Taça de Portugal (Portuguese Cup), and he scored in the semi-finals.
On August 24, 2017, Carrillo went to play for the English team Watford on a loan for one season. He joined Watford because his former coach from Sporting, Marco Silva, was managing there. He played his first game for Watford two days later. He played 30 games for Watford. He scored his first goal for them on December 30 in a game against Swansea City. He also scored in an FA Cup game a week later.
Success with Al Hilal
For the 2018–19 season, Carrillo was loaned again, this time to Al-Hilal FC in Saudi Arabia. On July 23, 2019, Carrillo signed a four-year contract to stay with Al-Hilal permanently.
He scored an important goal in the first game of the 2019 AFC Champions League Final on November 9. Al-Hilal won that game 1–0. They went on to win the championship with a total score of 3–0. This win allowed them to play in the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup. With Al-Hilal, he won many titles, including three league titles, two King Cups, two Saudi Super Cups, and two AFC Champions League titles.
Moving to Al-Qadsiah
On August 13, 2023, André Carrillo joined Al-Qadsiah, a club in the Saudi First Division League. He helped the team get promoted to the top league at the end of the season.
Joining Corinthians
On September 10, 2024, the Brazilian club Corinthians announced that André Carrillo had officially joined their team. He became the third player from Peru to play for Corinthians.
International Career for Peru
André Carrillo has had a long and successful career playing for the Peru national team.
In March 2011, André was called up to play for Peru for the first time. He made his debut at the 2011 Copa América tournament in Argentina. He played in the final group match against Chile.
On August 15, 2012, Carrillo scored his first goal for Peru in a friendly game against Costa Rica. His second goal for Peru was on July 3, 2015, in a 2–0 win against Paraguay at the 2015 Copa América Third Place Match.
Carrillo was part of the Peru team that finished second to Brazil in the 2019 Copa América. He played most of the final game, which Peru lost 3–1. On October 8, 2020, he scored two goals in a 2–2 draw against Paraguay.
At the 2021 Copa América in Brazil, Carrillo scored important goals in group games against Ecuador and Venezuela. In the quarter-finals, he helped Gianluca Lapadula score a goal.
On June 15, 2024, he was chosen to be part of the 26-player squad for the 2024 Copa América. On June 25, he played his 100th game for Peru in a match against Canada.
