André Martín Carrillo Díaz (born on June 14, 1991) is a professional football player from Peru. He plays as a winger or second striker for the Brazilian club Corinthians. He also plays for the Peru national team. People call him La Culebra, which means "The Snake".
Carrillo started his senior career in 2009 with Alianza Lima in Peru. Two years later, he moved to Sporting CP in Portugal. He also began playing for his country around this time. In 2016, he joined Benfica, another big club in Portugal. He had a great first season there, winning the league, cup, and super cup.
After that, he played on loan for Watford in England. Then he moved to Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia, first on loan and then permanently. With Al-Hilal, he won many important titles. These included three league titles, two King Cups, two Saudi Super Cups, and two AFC Champions League titles. In 2023, he joined Al-Qadsiah and helped them get promoted to the top league. In 2024, he signed with Corinthians in Brazil.
For his country, Carrillo has played over 100 games for Peru since 2011. He has played in five Copa América tournaments. Peru finished third in 2011 and 2015, and second in 2019. He also represented Peru in the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

André Carrillo's Club Journey
Starting at Alianza Lima
André Carrillo began his football journey in 2004. He joined the youth team of Esther Grande de Bentín in Lima, Peru. In 2007, he moved to the youth setup of Alianza Lima. By 2009, he was playing for Alianza Lima's main team.
He made his first league appearance on December 5, 2009. This was in the last game of the season. He came into the game in the 75th minute. The match ended in a 2–2 draw.
Playing for Sporting CP
On May 6, 2011, Carrillo signed a five-year contract with Sporting CP in Portugal. He quickly became part of their main team. He made his Primeira Liga debut on September 19, 2011. Sporting won that game 3–2.
In his second match, he helped his team score a goal. He gave two more assists in another big win. He scored his first league goal in his eleventh match. This was against Braga.
In February 2016, Sporting announced that Carrillo would join their city rivals, Benfica.
Time at Benfica
Carrillo officially joined Benfica on July 1, 2016. Benfica had just won the Portuguese league. He was part of the team that won the 2016 Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira cup. He played 20 games and scored two goals as Benfica won the league. The team also won the Taça de Portugal cup.
On August 24, 2017, Carrillo moved to the English team Watford. This was a loan for one season. He joined his former Sporting manager, Marco Silva, there. He played 30 games for Watford. He scored his first goal for them in a game against Swansea City. He also scored in an FA Cup match.
Success with Al Hilal
For the 2018–19 season, Carrillo was loaned again. This time, he went to Al-Hilal FC in Saudi Arabia. On July 23, 2019, he signed a four-year contract to stay with the club permanently.
He scored an important goal in the first game of the 2019 AFC Champions League Final. Al-Hilal won the title, which meant they could play in the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup. With Al-Hilal, he won many trophies. These included three Saudi Pro League titles, two King Cups, and two Saudi Super Cups. He also won the AFC Champions League twice.
Moving to Al-Qadsiah and Corinthians
On August 13, 2023, Carrillo joined Al-Qadsiah, a club in the Saudi First Division League. He helped them get promoted to the top league at the end of the season. In mid-2024, he left Al-Qadsiah and signed with the Brazilian team, Corinthians.
André Carrillo's International Career
In March 2011, André Carrillo was called up to play for the Peru national team. He made his debut at the 2011 Copa América in Argentina. He played in the final group match against Chile.
On August 15, 2012, Carrillo scored his first goal for Peru. It was the only goal in a friendly match against Costa Rica. His second goal for Peru came on July 3, 2015. This was in a 2–0 win against Paraguay in the 2015 Copa América Third Place Match.
Carrillo played in all three group games at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. He scored a goal in a 2–0 win against Australia. This was Peru's first World Cup goal in 36 years!
He was part of the Peru team that finished second in the 2019 Copa América. They lost to Brazil in the final. On October 8, 2020, he scored two goals in a 2–2 draw against Paraguay. This was during the qualifying games for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
At the 2021 Copa América in Brazil, Carrillo scored important goals. He scored against Ecuador and Venezuela. In the quarter-finals, he helped Gianluca Lapadula score.
On June 15, 2024, he was chosen for the 26-player squad for the 2024 Copa América. On June 25, he played his 100th game for Peru. This was in a 1–0 loss against Canada.
