Andrius Pojavis, born on November 25, 1983, is a singer and songwriter from Lithuania. He is well-known for representing his country in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2013. This big music competition took place in Malmö, Sweden.
Andrius Pojavis: Early Music Journey
Andrius Pojavis started singing when he was very young. In high school, he was part of a band called "No Hero." After finishing school, he moved to Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. There, he studied history at the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences.
While in Vilnius, Andrius played in several bands. One of these bands was "Hetero," which won the "EuroRock" competition in 2006. Later, he lived in Ireland for a year. During this time, he began writing his own songs as a solo artist.
In 2012, Andrius started recording his first album. He worked at a studio in Milan, Italy. His first song, "Traukiniai," came out that same year. It became popular in Lithuania and its music video was shown on TV. After this success, he released his first album, named Aštuoni. This album was very popular and received good reviews.
Andrius at Eurovision
Andrius Pojavis represented Lithuania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013. His song was called "Something." He performed in the first semi-final on May 14, 2013. He earned 53 points and placed ninth, which allowed him to move on to the final.
In the final competition, Andrius finished in twenty-second place with 17 points. After the semi-final, he mentioned that he hoped to place eighth. This was a fun reference to his album, which was titled Aštuoni, meaning "eight" in Lithuanian.
Andrius also competed in Eurovizija.LT on December 19, 2023. This is Lithuania's national competition to choose their Eurovision entry. He performed the song "Sing Me a Hug." However, he did not qualify for the final, coming last in his semi-final on January 20, 2024.

Andrius Pojavis currently lives in Valencia, Spain. He lives there with his wife and their two daughters.
