Andy Dunlop (born Andrew Dunlop, 16 March 1972) is a talented Scottish musician. He is best known as the lead guitarist for the famous Scottish indie band, Travis.

Andy Dunlop's Musical Journey

Andy Dunlop grew up in Lenzie, Scotland. He attended Lenzie Academy as a student. His musical journey began when he joined the band Travis.

Success with Travis

Travis became very popular with their album The Man Who. This album was a huge success around the world. In 1999, it became the best-selling album in the UK. This helped the band become widely known.

Andy's Songwriting

Besides playing guitar, Andy also writes songs for Travis. He has written and sung on songs like "You Don't Know What I'm Like" and "Ancient Train". He also helped write "Central Station" and "The Sea".

For the album Ode to J. Smith, Andy co-wrote the song "Quite Free". He worked with other band members, Fran Healy and Dougie Payne, on this song.
