About Angel Taylor
Early Life
Angel Taylor was born on March 20, 1988, in Los Angeles, California. She is the youngest of five daughters. Her mother's name is LaTonya Taylor. Angel has lived in both Sylmar and Santa Clarita, California. Her older sister, Ebony, was on the TV show America's Next Top Model.
Music Journey
Angel Taylor did not go to music school. She taught herself how to play the piano and guitar. When she was 13, her sister Ebony started writing poems. This inspired Angel to begin writing her own songs.
First Steps in Music
Angel's music career began when she reached out to a music producer named Mikal Blue. He had worked with famous artists like Colbie Caillat. Angel wanted to rent his studio to record some songs for her family. After hearing her music, Mikal Blue wanted to help her get a record deal.
A few months later, Angel flew to New York for the first time. She signed with Aware/Columbia Records. This helped her and her family move into their first home.
Releasing Music and Touring
Angel's first album, Love Travels, came out on iTunes on March 31, 2009. She had released a shorter collection of songs (an EP) before this. Her song "Make Me Believe" was chosen as the iTunes single of the week. VH1 also featured her as a rising artist to watch.
Angel has toured with many popular artists. These include Adele, Kate Voegele, Brett Dennen, Brandi Carlile, and Gavin DeGraw. In 2009, she also performed with Five For Fighting, Mat Kearney, and Sugar Ray.
TV Appearances and Collaborations
Angel was a contestant on the second season of The Voice. She chose Maroon 5's lead singer, Adam Levine, as her coach. She was later eliminated and did not perform in the live shows.
Her song "Like You Do" was used in an episode of The CW's TV show One Tree Hill. It was also featured on VH1's Tough Love, where she performed. Another song, "Make Me Believe", was on the show 90210 in 2009. She released another EP called Motion in 2012.
Since 2013, Angel has worked with many DJs. She sang on "Beam" by Mako and "Up All Night" by Arty. In 2015, she provided vocals for "Make It Right" on Armin van Buuren's album. She has also worked with Tritonal, AFSHeeN, and HARBER. In 2019, she sang on Morgan Page's song "Reason for Living".
