How Angelo Peruzzi Played
Peruzzi was a strong and athletic goalkeeper. He was known for his power, quick reactions, and speed. Even though he had a sturdy build, he was very agile. He was especially good at rushing out from his goal line. He would quickly stop or collect the ball on the ground. He was also good at anticipating opponents outside the penalty area. This made him great for teams that played with a high defensive line.
He was not very tall for a goalkeeper. So, he preferred to punch the ball away rather than catch crosses. But his overall handling of the ball was very reliable. He was technically gifted and could make amazing saves. However, he only did spectacular dives when absolutely necessary. He believed a great goalkeeper should make saves look easy. He was also very focused and could make big saves even after long periods of no action. He was good at stopping penalties.
Peruzzi was a talented player from a young age. He was considered one of the best goalkeepers in the world in the 1990s. He also played at a high level for many years. He was known for his strong personality and leadership on the field. He inspired confidence in his teammates. Off the field, he was a kind and calm person.
