Anne Stuart was a princess who lived a very short life. She was born on March 17, 1637, and passed away on November 5, 1640. Anne was the daughter of King Charles I and his wife, Henrietta Maria of France. She was one of three of their children who sadly died when they were very young.

Early Years of Princess Anne
Princess Anne was born at St. James's Palace in London. This happened on March 17, 1637. She was the sixth child and third daughter of King Charles I of England. Her mother was Henrietta Maria of France, the queen.
Anne had several older brothers and sisters:

- The future Charles II of England
- Mary, Princess Royal
- The future James II of England
- Elizabeth of England
Princess Anne was baptized as an Anglican on March 30, 1637. This ceremony took place at St. James's Palace. William Laud, the Archbishop of Canterbury, performed the baptism.
During her short life, Anne saw two more siblings born. These were Catherine (born in 1639), who also lived for a very short time, and Henry Stuart, Duke of Gloucester. Anne died before her youngest sister, Princess Henrietta of England, was born. Henrietta later married Philippe I, Duke of Orléans and had four children.
How Princess Anne Died
Princess Anne was only three years old when she died in 1640. She passed away from a lung illness called tuberculosis. She was laid to rest in Westminster Abbey in London. Her burial place was next to her older brother, Charles James, who had also died as a baby.
