Annemarie Huber-Hotz (born August 16, 1948 – died August 1, 2019) was an important Swiss politician. She served as the Federal Chancellor of Switzerland from 2000 to 2007. This was a very high-ranking job in the Swiss government. She was chosen for this role by the FDP. Later, in 2011, she became the President of the Swiss Red Cross. She was also a vice-president of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

Annemarie Huber-Hotz was born in Baar, a town in Switzerland. She went to primary and secondary school in Baar. She also attended the Gymnasium of Zug, which is a type of high school.
University Studies and Professional Training
After high school, she studied many subjects at different universities. She studied sociology, ethnology, and political science. Her studies took her to the University of Bern in Switzerland. She also studied at Uppsala University in Sweden. Later, she went to the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva. Annemarie Huber-Hotz also took advanced courses. She studied spatial planning at ETH in Zürich.
