He also played professionally in leagues like the Arena Football League (AFL) and the XFL. He was even part of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the National Football League (NFL) for a short time.

Early Life and High School Sports
Anthony DiCosmo was born in Hackensack, New Jersey. He grew up in a loving home after being adopted by Petrina DiCosmo. He went to Paramus Catholic High School in Paramus, New Jersey.
While in high school, Anthony was an amazing athlete. He was named a Parade All-American in both football and track. In football, he set a state record with 71 catches in one season during his junior year. He also set a state record in the long jump in track and field.
College Football Career
Anthony DiCosmo played college football for the Boston College Eagles. He was a key player from 1996 to 1998. In his first year, 1995, he got injured early on and couldn't play much.
During his sophomore year in 1996, he started nine games. He caught 36 passes for 632 yards and scored one touchdown. In 1997, he had 24 catches for 362 yards and four touchdowns, even though he missed some games due to an injury.
As a senior in 1998, Anthony had a great season. He caught 47 passes for 804 yards and scored seven touchdowns. He also competed in track at Boston College. He earned a bachelor’s degree in communications.
Professional Football Journey
After college, Anthony DiCosmo signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1999. He even scored a touchdown in his very first preseason game! However, he was released before the regular season started.
Playing in the Arena Football League
In 2000, Anthony joined the New England Sea Wolves in the Arena Football League (AFL). He played in nine games that season. He had 44 catches for 521 yards and scored seven touchdowns. He also ran the ball and returned kicks.
Time in the XFL
Later in 2000, Anthony was picked up by the New York/New Jersey Hitmen in the XFL. He played in all ten games for the Hitmen in 2001, starting two of them. He caught 26 passes for 268 yards. The XFL league closed down after that season.
Return to the AFL
In 2002, Anthony signed with another AFL team, the Los Angeles Avengers. He played in two games for them before his time with the team ended.
Life After Football
After his football career, Anthony DiCosmo worked in sports marketing. He became a senior vice president of sports marketing and development for Nickelodeon. In 2016, he was recognized as one of Sports Business Journal's "40 under 40," which highlights successful young professionals in the sports industry.
Anthony's son, Aeneas DiCosmo, also became a college football player. He played for both Stanford and Vanderbilt.
