Antonio García-Trevijano Forte (born July 18, 1927 – died February 28, 2018) was a Spanish lawyer, philosopher, and political activist. He was born in Alhama de Granada, Spain. Antonio García-Trevijano was an important person who spoke out against the Francoist dictatorship, a time when Spain was ruled by a dictator.

Fighting for Freedom
Antonio García-Trevijano worked hard to bring political freedom to Spain. He believed that people should have the right to choose their leaders and have a say in how their country is run.
Early Efforts for Democracy
In 1974, he helped set up meetings in Paris. These meetings were between Don Juan de Borbón, who was the rightful heir to the Spanish throne, and groups who wanted a republic. A republic is a country where citizens elect their leaders. During these meetings, Don Juan said he did not agree with Franco's choice for his son, Juan Carlos, to become the next leader.
Leading a Movement
Antonio García-Trevijano was also the leader of a group called the Citizens' Movement towards the Constitutional Republic of Spain (MCRC). This group worked to create a new system of government in Spain. They wanted a country where the people had more power and where laws protected everyone's rights.
