Antwerp is a small village located in Jefferson County, New York, in the United States. In 2010, about 686 people lived there. This village is right in the middle of the Town of Antwerp. It is also northeast of a larger city called Watertown.

History of Antwerp Village
The village of Antwerp was once known as "Indian River." This name came from its location right on the Indian River.
Antwerp officially became a village in 1853. The oldest part of the village, with its historic buildings, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001. This area is known as the Village of Antwerp Historic District.
Geography and Location
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village covers a total area of about 2.76 square kilometers (1.07 square miles). Most of this area is land, about 2.68 square kilometers (1.03 square miles). The rest, about 0.1 square kilometers (0.04 square miles), is water.
The Indian River flows right through the center of Antwerp. This river is part of the larger Oswegatchie River system.
Antwerp is located on U.S. Route 11. It is about 23 miles (37 km) northeast of Watertown. The village is also about 13 miles (21 km) southwest of Gouverneur.
