Apex Mountain Resort is a super fun ski resort located in beautiful southwestern Canada. You can find it in the Okanagan region, on Beaconsfield Mountain, which is just west of Penticton, British Columbia. Discover Apex Mountain Resort
Beaconsfield Mountain is really tall, with its highest point reaching 2,178 m (7,146 ft) above sea level. It gets a lot of snow every year, about 600 cm (20 ft) on average! This means there's usually plenty of fresh powder for skiing and snowboarding.
What Can You Do at Apex?
Apex Mountain Resort has a huge area for skiing and snowboarding, covering about 4.5 km2 (1,112 acres) of groomed trails. If you love exploring, there's also a massive 50 km2 (20 sq mi) area for backcountry skiing, where you can ski off the marked trails. For those who prefer a different kind of adventure, there are 50 km (30 mi) of groomed trails for cross-country skiing.
Ski Lifts and Trails
The resort has 79 named trails, which means there's a run for everyone, from beginners to experts! You can get to these trails using four different chairlifts. One of these is a super fast high-speed quad, which gets you up the mountain quickly.
Fun Parks and Snow
Apex also has four awesome terrain parks where you can practice jumps and tricks. Plus, there's a special tube park for some sliding fun! To make sure there's always enough snow, Apex uses twelve snow guns. These guns can make snow all the way from the top of the mountain to the bottom.
Places to Stay and Other Activities
If you want to stay right at the resort, you have a few choices like Apex Accommodations, Apex Lodge, and Apex Mountain Inn. But the fun doesn't stop at skiing! You can also enjoy a 1.0 km (0.6 mi) ice skating loop or play hockey on the outdoor rink. Close by, the Nickel Plate Nordic Centre offers even more chances for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
