Archibald George Montgomerie (born August 27, 1939 – died June 14, 2018) was known as the 18th Earl of Eglinton and 6th Earl of Winton. Before he became an Earl in 1966, people called him Lord Montgomerie. He was the son of Archibald William Alexander Montgomerie, who was the 17th Earl of Eglinton, and Ursula Joan Watson.

Archibald George Montgomerie went to a famous school called Eton College. After school, he started a career in the business world in London. He worked in finance, which is about managing money.
Working in the Stock Market
He joined a company called Grieveson Grant. This company helped people buy and sell parts of companies, called shares, on the London Stock Exchange. He became a senior dealer, which means he was very good at buying and selling certain types of investments. By the time he was 24, he was a partner in the company.
Later, he worked for another company called Gerrard and National. He became a managing director there, which is a top leadership role. He also led Gerrard Vivian Gray for a few years. He then became chairman of the Edinburgh Investment Trust PLC and was a director for other investment companies. This means he helped guide how these companies invested money.
