The Bergerac arrondissement is located in the southwestern part of the Dordogne department. It covers a large area of about 2,182 square kilometers (842 square miles). In 2014, about 111,875 people lived here. This means there were about 51 people living in each square kilometer.
This area is surrounded by other parts of France. To the north, it borders the Périgueux arrondissement. To the east, it's next to the Sarlat-la-Canéda arrondissement. The Lot-et-Garonne department is to the south, and the Gironde department is to the west.
