The arrondissement of Périgueux is in the central western part of the Dordogne department. It is the largest of the arrondissements in the area. Its total size is about 3,336.5 square kilometers (1,288 square miles).

Borders and Rivers
The arrondissement of Périgueux shares its borders with several other areas. To the north, it borders the Nontron arrondissement. To the east, it borders the Corrèze department.
