The arrondissement of Châtellerault is an administrative area in France. It's located in the Vienne department, which is part of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. The main city, or capital, of this area is Châtellerault.

The Châtellerault area has been an important part of the Vienne department since it was first created. This happened in 1800.
Geography of Châtellerault
The Châtellerault arrondissement is in the northern part of the Vienne department. It shares borders with several other departments. These include Maine-et-Loire to the northwest. It also borders Indre-et-Loire to the north and east.
A small part of the Indre department is to the southeast. It also borders the Montmorillon and Poitiers arrondissements. To the west, it borders the Deux-Sèvres department.
This area covers about 2,065 square kilometers (797 square miles). In 2014, about 112,313 people lived here. This means there were about 54 people living in each square kilometer.
