History of Langon's District
How the Name Changed
When the Gironde département was first created on 17 February 1800, the district we now call Langon was part of it. Back then, it was known as the Arrondissement of Bazas.
Later, in 1926, the main administrative office for the district moved. It moved from the town of Bazas to the town of Langon. Because of this move, the name of the district was changed to the Arrondissement of Langon.
