The Vervins arrondissement is found in the northeast part of the Aisne department. It shares borders with several other areas. To the north, it's next to the Nord department. To the northeast, it even touches Belgium for about 7 kilometers (4.3 miles)!
On its eastern side, you'll find the Ardennes department. To the south, it borders the Laon arrondissement. Finally, to the west, it's next to the Saint-Quentin arrondissement.
The total area of the Vervins arrondissement is about 1,400.6 square kilometers (540.8 square miles). It has the fewest people living in it compared to other arrondissements in Aisne. In 2014, about 66,348 people lived here.
