Ash Hill is a small place in eastern Butler County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is an unincorporated community, which means it's a small area that doesn't have its own local government like a city or town.

Ash Hill is located along Missouri Route 51. It's about ten miles east of a bigger town called Poplar Bluff. You can also find it just over a mile west of Fisk. The St. Francis River is nearby, and it forms the border between Butler and Stoddard counties. A train track, used by the Missouri Pacific Railway, also runs through this community.

What's the Story of Ash Hill?

Ash Hill got its name from the many ash trees that grew on the hills nearby. People in the area thought these trees were a special feature of the landscape.

A post office was opened in Ash Hill way back in 1861. This was an important place for people to send and receive mail. The post office served the community for many years, but it eventually closed down in 1894.
