The Açaí palm (also known as Assai palm) is a type of palm tree. There are seven different kinds of Açaí palms. These trees grow naturally in Central America and South America.
The Açaí palm produces a black-purple fruit. This fruit is about the size of a grape. It is called a euterpe. Inside the fruit, there is a very large seed. The fruits grow in big bunches, with 700 to 900 fruits in each bunch!
