Atsushi Yanagisawa's Club Career

Atsushi Yanagisawa was born in Imizu, Japan, on May 27, 1977. After finishing high school, he joined Kashima Antlers in 1996. He played his first game in May 1996.

By 1997, he became a regular player for Kashima Antlers. He even won the Rookie of the Year award! In the late 1990s, his team won many championships. They won the J1 League in 1996 and 1998. They also won the J.League Cup and the Emperor's Cup in 1997.

In 2000, Kashima Antlers had an amazing year. They won all three major titles in Japan: the J1 League, the J.League Cup, and the Emperor's Cup. In 2001, they won the J1 League again, making it two years in a row! Yanagisawa was even named the Japanese Footballer of the Year. The club also won the J.League Cup in 2002.

Playing in Italy
