Attack of the Mutant Artificial Trees is a fun, free online video game. It was made in 2004 by the National Christmas Tree Association. This group wanted to promote real Christmas trees. The game got some complaints from companies that make fake trees. People often say it's like the classic game Whac-A-Mole.

Playing the Game
What's the Goal?
In this game, you need to throw snowballs at "mutant" artificial Christmas trees. These fake trees are trying to ruin the Christmas spirit! You must avoid hitting the friendly elves who are mixed in with the trees.
Game Play Details
The mutant trees pop out of boxes. These boxes are often marked "100% Fake" or "Made in China". The game tells you that these trees are "sucking the spirit out of Christmas". There's an "Xmas Spirit Meter" that shows how well you're doing. If you miss a mutant tree or hit an elf by accident, the meter goes down.
Fun Facts Between Rounds
After each round, the game shares interesting "facts" about Christmas trees. Some people see these as helpful tips. Others might see them as warnings about why fake trees are not as good.
