Austin Edward Seferian-Jenkins was born on September 29, 1992. He is a former American football player. He played as a tight end in the National Football League (NFL). The Tampa Bay Buccaneers picked him in the second round of the 2014 NFL draft. He also played for the New York Jets and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Early Life and High School Football
Austin Seferian-Jenkins grew up in Gig Harbor, Washington. He went to Gig Harbor High School. There, he played football for the Gig Harbor High School Tides team. During his high school career, he caught 126 passes. He also played in the 2011 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
Many experts thought he was a top player. He was considered the second-best tight end in his group. He chose to go to the University of Washington. This was his home-state school. He picked Washington because it was the only big school that let him play both basketball and football.
College Football Career
Austin started playing for the Washington Huskies in 2011. He was a true freshman. He played in 10 out of 13 games. He caught 41 passes for 538 yards. He also scored six touchdowns. Besides football, he also played basketball in his first year.
In his second year, he caught 69 passes. He gained 852 yards and scored seven touchdowns. He was one of the top players for the John Mackey Award. This award goes to the best tight end in college football. By the end of his second year, he had set new records for Washington tight ends. He had 110 catches, 1,390 receiving yards, and 13 touchdowns.
In August 2013, Austin broke his pinkie finger during practice. He needed surgery to fix it. After Washington won the 2013 Fight Hunger Bowl, he decided to leave college early. He entered the 2014 NFL Draft.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
2014 Season
In his first year, Austin played in nine games. He caught 21 passes for 221 yards. He also scored two touchdowns. His first touchdown was a seven-yard catch. It happened in a game against the Minnesota Vikings. His season ended early because of an injury. He was placed on the team's Injured Reserve list.
2015 Season
In 2015, Austin hoped to have a great season. He started strong in the first game. He caught five passes for 110 yards. He scored two touchdowns against the Tennessee Titans. These were the first touchdowns caught from his team's new quarterback, Jameis Winston. After this strong start, his season was not as successful. He scored two more touchdowns that year. He played in seven games. He finished with 338 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
2016 Season
Austin's 2016 season with the Buccaneers was short. He played in the first game against the Atlanta Falcons. He caught one pass for 30 yards and a touchdown. This was his only touchdown of the season. He played one more game for the Buccaneers. After that, he moved to a new team.
New York Jets
2016 and 2017 Seasons
On September 26, 2016, the New York Jets picked up Austin. He played seven games for the Jets that year. He caught 10 passes for 110 yards.
In 2017, Austin was not allowed to play the first two weeks. This was due to a league rule. During a game against the New England Patriots, he had a memorable play.
