History of Baldwin
Baldwin Borough got its name from Henry Baldwin. He was an important person who served as a U.S. Congressman. He also became a judge on the highest court in the country, the Supreme Court.
Baldwin officially became a borough on October 27, 1950. Before that, it was part of a larger area called Baldwin Township.
Geography and Location
Baldwin is located at specific coordinates: 40°21′26″N 79°58′10″W. A narrow part of Baldwin stretches north along Becks Run Road. This strip separates two other areas, St. Clair and Hays. It even reaches the Monongahela River. This means it almost completely surrounds Hays on three sides.
