Bayview is a small community on Whidbey Island in Island County, Washington, United States. It's an unincorporated community, which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it's part of the larger county.

You can find Bayview where State Route 525 and Bayview Road meet. It's about 5 miles (8 km) west of Clinton and 4 miles (6 km) south of Langley.

Bayview Corner: A Hub of Activity

Bayview is a busy spot on the south end of Whidbey Island. It's a central place for shopping and services for people living nearby.

Shops and Services

Bayview has many useful stores and places to visit. You can find a hardware store for home projects and a craft store for creative fun. There's also a nursery for plants and a grocery store for food. An alternative grocery store offers different kinds of products. If you're hungry, there are several restaurants to choose from. There's also a gas station for cars.

Community Resources

Bayview is home to important community services:

  • The South Whidbey Seniors' Center provides activities for older adults.
  • South Whidbey Fire Rescue helps keep the community safe.

Historic Bayview Corner

The area known as Bayview Corner has old buildings that were updated in the early 2000s. These buildings now house:

  • An art gallery
  • A nursery

During the summer, a farmers' market sets up here. You can buy fresh local produce and handmade goods.

Bayview Community Hall

Just south of Bayview Corner is the historic Bayview Community Hall. This hall was built in 1927. The land was donated, and volunteers helped build it. Today, it's run by a non-profit group. It belongs to the people living in the South Whidbey School District.

Sears Kit House

Across Bayview Road from the main corner, you can see a special house. It's a renovated Sears kit house. These houses were ordered from a catalog and shipped in pieces to be built. This particular house was first built in Greenbank. It was moved to Bayview after a highway project.

Important Note

Don't confuse Bayview on Whidbey Island with Bay View. That community is located on the mainland in Skagit County.
