Bear Creek is a beautiful river in central Colorado, United States. It's a smaller river that flows into the South Platte River. Imagine it like a smaller branch joining a bigger tree trunk!
The journey of Bear Creek starts high up at Summit Lake, near the tall Mount Evans. From there, the water flows downhill. It eventually meets the South Platte River in Sheridan, Colorado. This spot is just south of the big city of Denver.
Bear Creek is part of something called the Bear Creek Watershed. A watershed is an area of land where all the water drains into one main river or lake. Think of it like a giant bowl where all the rain and snowmelt collect. The Bear Creek Watershed covers about 236 square miles. This includes all the smaller streams that flow into the Bear Creek Reservoir. The two most important streams feeding into it are Bear Creek itself and Turkey Creek. This watershed stretches from the wild Mount Evans Wilderness all the way to the small Town of Morrison.
