Beerlao (Template:Lao language: ເບຍລາວ) is the name for a popular range of drinks made by the Lao Brewery Company (LBC). This company is located in Vientiane, the capital city of Laos. Beerlao is known as a national symbol of Laos.

How Beerlao is Made
The drinks are made using special ingredients. A key ingredient is jasmine rice, which is grown locally in Laos. Other important parts like malt come from countries like France and Belgium. The hops and yeast used in the drinks are imported from Germany. These ingredients help give Beerlao its unique taste.
Types of Beerlao Drinks
The Lao Brewery Company makes several kinds of Beerlao drinks.
Beerlao Original
Beerlao Original is the first drink made by LBC. It comes in different sizes, like small and large bottles, and cans. You can find it all over Laos. It is also sold in some restaurants in Cambodia and in places in Thailand. Sometimes, you can even find it served fresh from a tap. Locals call this bia sot, meaning "fresh drink".
Other Popular Beerlao Drinks
In 2005, LBC introduced two new Beerlao drinks. These were Beerlao Light and Beerlao Dark. Beerlao Light was later stopped.
In 2008, the company launched another drink called Lanexang. The name "Lanexang" means "Million Elephants". This was also the name of an old kingdom in Laos from 1354 to 1707. Lanexang Beer has become popular with local people.
A newer drink, Beerlao Gold, was introduced in 2010. This drink uses a special type of rice called "khao kai noy". This rice is said to give the drink a "good scent and non-sticky texture."
Beerlao's Success
The Lao Brewery Company says that Beerlao is very popular in Laos. They claim to sell almost all the drinks in the country. However, other drinks like Tiger beer from Singapore have also entered the market.
Beerlao has also been a sponsor for big events. For example, it was an official sponsor for the 2009 Southeast Asian Games. These games were held in Vientiane in December 2009. Beerlao is also one of the main advertisers in Laos. They create popular calendars that show the winners of the Beerlao beauty pageant each year.
Beerlao has won awards for its quality. It received a gold quality award twice, in 2006 and 2010. It also won a silver quality award in 2003. These awards were given by Monde Selection, an international quality institute from Belgium.

Beerlao is now sold in many countries around the world. You can find it in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Ireland, Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia, France, Thailand, Denmark, Hong Kong and Macau, Switzerland, China, Singapore, and the Netherlands. It is also available without extra taxes at most border crossings from Laos, especially those leading to Thailand.
