Bell Hill is a small community in Clallam County, Washington, United States. It's called a census-designated place (CDP) because the government tracks its population. In 2020, about 875 people lived there. This was a small increase from 837 people in 2010.
Bell Hill is located just south of the city of Sequim. It has become a popular spot for people who have been very successful in technology businesses. Many of these people come from California.
Sequim itself is not known for being rich. However, it is famous for its very low rainfall. Bell Hill gets a bit more rain than Sequim. Still, it is much drier than most other areas in western Washington. This dry weather makes Bell Hill a very appealing place to live.
Bell Hill is considered one of the wealthiest areas in Washington state. It ranks 21st out of 522 places in terms of how much money people earn there. It is also the highest-ranked area in Clallam County for income.
Where is Bell Hill?
Bell Hill is in the eastern part of Clallam County. It shares a border with the city of Sequim to its north. The community gets its name from the hill it sits on. This hill rises to over 1,000 feet (300 meters) above sea level. That's more than 800 feet (240 meters) higher than the center of Sequim.
The area actually has two main peaks, or "hillocks." The eastern hillock is about 950 feet (290 meters) above sea level. It is covered with trees like Douglas fir and Pacific madrone. The western hillock is more open and less forested.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the Bell Hill area covers about 6.9 square kilometers (2.6 square miles). All of this area is land, with no water.
