Benn Harradine (born October 14, 1982) is a retired Australian athlete. He was a champion in the discus throw, a sport where you throw a heavy disc as far as you can. Benn competed in three Olympic Games, starting in 2008.
He first reached the final of the discus event at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, finishing eighth. Later, he won the gold medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. His fifth-place finish at the 2011 World Championships was the best result ever for an Australian man in discus. Benn stopped competing after the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, where he finished sixth.
Benn Harradine broke the Australian record three times during his career. His best throw ever was 68.20 meters. He achieved this amazing distance in Townsville in May 2013.
Benn is an Indigenous Australian athlete. He comes from the Wotjobaluk tribe, which is located in the Wimmera area of Victoria. He looks up to Vincent Lingiari, a famous land rights activist. Benn is also recognized on the Australian Olympic Committee list of Australian Indigenous Olympians.
