Betsy Reilly Lewin, born on May 12, 1937, is a talented American illustrator. She grew up in Clearfield, Pennsylvania. Betsy went to the Pratt Institute to study illustration. After finishing school, she started her career by designing greeting cards. Soon, she began writing and drawing stories for children's magazines. This led her to create many popular children's books.
Betsy is married to Ted Lewin, who is also a children's book illustrator. They have worked together on several books about their amazing travels. These adventures took them to faraway places like Uganda, which inspired Gorilla Walk. They also visited Mongolia for Horse Song. Another book, How to Babysit a Leopard: and Other True Stories from Our Travels Across Six Continents, shares more of their exciting journeys. Betsy Lewin is especially famous for her book Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type, which won a special award called the Caldecott Honor.
