Betsy Reilly Lewin, born on May 12, 1937, is an amazing American artist and writer. She grew up in Clearfield, Pennsylvania. Betsy is best known for drawing pictures for many popular children's books. She even won an award called the Caldecott Honor for her work on the book Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type.

Betsy studied art at the Pratt Institute. After finishing school, she started her career by designing greeting cards. Soon, she began writing and drawing for children's magazines. This led her to create pictures for children's books.

Betsy is married to another children's book illustrator, Ted Lewin. Together, they have written and illustrated several books about their exciting trips around the world. These adventures include visiting Uganda for Gorilla Walk and Mongolia for Horse Song. They also wrote How to Babysit a Leopard: and Other True Stories from Our Travels Across Six Continents.
